Pearls of wisdom from Ranjith the "angry young man in pain " !

Pearls of wisdom from his highness Ranjith .

“ .... the Dravidian movement has been fooling the people by portraying the Brahmins and brahmanism as oppressors , while in reality it is the shudra who is the oppressor .....only Ambedkar...only Ambedkar.... will make you realise this “

“(Not proportional representation or separate electorates ) but exclusive alliance among Dalit parties contesting in reserved constituencies is the change that is needed ......”

“Ambedkar has written that one should not eat beef , but in spite of that I eat beef to express my sense of resistance (to cultural hegemony ) .... “

“ only Dalit party vck and its leader Thiruma has my support for the election ( no support for the alliance partners ,in fact I am eternally against them)”

“ Rajaraja Cholan was a bigot not because he was a slave of Brahmins but because he patronized Vellalas and bestowed them with lands ,so we should expropriate Vellala lands ( but not temple land , Brahmin land , sankaracharya land ..) "

This is the kind of regressive views put forth by him and celebrated by his followers and north indian media.

when criticized about this , One of the most common arguments floating around in support of Ranjith is that , he is an “angry young man in pain " who is voicing out his innermost feelings and therefore facts ,logic ,common sense etc should not be expected in this genre of war cry. It's a very comical argument to say the least .Still taking this argument at face value , let us consider a few simple things .

Let's take the case of the periyarist “angry young man in pain ” (who by the way is despised by Ranjith and his followers for they consider them to be scheming and ill meaning towards the SCs) .For over a century now, often times this angry young man too has succumbed to his emotions and gone well beyond the highly objective means of articulation and protests as envisioned and advocated by Periyar .

The periyarist angry young man has indulged in unsavoury acts like
forcibly cutting and removing the poonool/Janeau,
conducting upanayanam festival for pigs ,
Immolating himself while raising slogans like Hindi ஒழிக/get lost Hindi
,etc etc .

For every such act of bravery that this Periyarist angry young man indulged in over the years ,north India has almost always uniformly dealt with him by persecuting him under the national security act , the sedition act and at times with bullets to his chest .And on every such occasion the Hindian media,supreme court and north Indian establishment as a whole have been consistently projecting him as a monster ,a racist and a barbaric separatist who needs to be taught a lesson .

But quite in contrast ,in the case of Ranjith and his followers as the angry young men in pain ,the problem has been from some low level landed shudra in the state police ,RSS and it's benamis or in the local judiciary i.e The very same landed shudra who Ranjith opines is the very fountain head of the caste system and makes it a point to consistently instigate in a crude and wanton fashion .

North India however has been treating this angry young man in a remarkably contrasting fashion . He is celebrated by them as the icon of revolutionary ( pan indian )dalit politics ,the entire north indian savarna media portrays him as the revolutionary hero of the Anti caste movement who is vindictively persecuted by the barbaric ,separatist Dravidian ecosystem here etc etc .The only thing that is yet to happen is the supreme court taking suo moto cognizance of the issue and condemning the lower judiciary in Tamil Nadu for persecuting a progressive thinker and staking claim once again to be truly casteless as it has often claimed to be .

The north does all this favour for one small little idea that Ranjith so emphatically and eloquently stands for, i.e that the brahmin and brahminism have been made scapegoats here by the periyarist movement ,for well over a century now ,in a scheming effort to fool and subjugate the Dalits and that the actual progenitors of the caste system have always been the velallas and the shudras from time immemorial (Raja Raja chozhan being the example emphasised ) .
